The Alternate

How much do you know about your ex’s new girlfriend? How much do you want to know?
Samara “Sam” Key may be “just” a student-teacher—still working toward a college degree and living with her older cousin, Lake—but well-kept secrets from her past threaten to derail aspirations of a stable life. Not only is she plagued with unexplained memory loss, she’s also newly-single after a dramatic breakup with her neighbor, Chad (an overall dumpster-fire of a boyfriend).
Things seem to take a turn for the better when Sam meets Parrish, a recently-hired teacher and archery coach at her school. In a world full of Chads, Parrish Duncan is like a tall glass of water in the middle of a desert—kind yet fiercely protective, and (if that weren’t enough)—empirically attractive by any standard. His striking physical attributes cause ladies everywhere to take pause—a phenomenon of which she is not immune.
While Sam lusts over her new colleague, Chad meets Maren—a salacious party-girl more than willing to match his toxic energy.
Though seemingly complete strangers, Sam will inevitably discover an earth-shattering connection between herself and Chad’s new flame. But will Maren turn out to be a friend to Sam—or foe?
The Alternate is an electrifying psychological thriller and off-beat contemporary romance sure to have you rooting for a happily-ever-after (whatever that means).

Firefly Lies

A stately manor, one peculiar groundskeeper, and untimely death set the stage for this thrilling and unexpected tale. As a twenty-nine year old married mother of two, Greer Tipton has spent nearly half her life trying to leave the past behind her. Yet she finds herself faced with reexamining her teenage years after agreeing to be interviewed by a biographer.
Greer’s recollection of events is equally as dark as it is compelling. Her harrowing story is fraught with lies, heartbreaking revelations, and an unknown enemy terrorizing her family’s beloved home - Langley Estates. Young Greer must find the answers she so desperately seeks, while also navigating the emotions of first love, loss, and an inherent mistrust of her own sanity.
The reader will be left wondering who, if anyone, can be trusted. Can we as human beings even trust ourselves?

Morgan’s personal philosophy: Reading fiction is the healthiest form of escapism.

“Easy reading is damned hard writing.”

“To the girl who reads by flashlight
who sees dragons in the clouds
who feels most alive in worlds that never were
who knows magic is real
who dreams
This is for you.”
